Van Niekerk is a South African-Swedish artist with more than thirty years of experience in the media, film and arts industry where he worked as writer, director, producer, cinematographer, editor, painter, interior decorator and poet. Van Niekerk also worked as art therapist and published the autobiographical book Behind the Lines of the Mind-healing the mental scars of war, 2009. Van Niekerk currently lives in Lisbon, Portugal.
